School stress

Have your say

I am not surprised about the amount of time teachers take off due to stress (your report, 23 August). But I am surprised by the unkind responses of those people who accuse them of malingering.

Most parents I know are exhausted by the end of the school holidays – and they only have to look after their own children. Even when the education system is working well and is properly funded, teachers have ridiculous levels of responsibility for many, many children.

I take my hat off to them.
