Logan Steele of Age Scotland Enterprises (Letters, 23 September) mostly did a good job to speak up for older drivers – and I am pleased that he did.
However, when I got to the part of his letter in which he said that “almost two thirds (63 per cent)” of older drivers feel “very confident in their abilities” my own confidence took a bit of a knock.
What this means is that 37 per cent of older drivers are not very confident of their abilities on the road.
This is not a figure I am comfortable with, and it is far worse than I imagined. I don’t want to share a road with anyone who is not confident in their abilities, regardless of their age.
