I enjoyed Mary Brown’s delicate delineation between mythic and logical thinking (Letters, 4 October). She reminds us that myths with longevity contain truths about the human condition and are rightly celebrated.

If only she could persuade some of her more evangelising Christian colleagues of the need to teach children about religious myths in RE class and not as truth in statutory religious observance.
