I feel compelled to write to express my enormous gratitude as to Scotland’s decision to remain part of the United Kingdom.
Together we are a great people and really quite unique in our contribution to the world in so many things, from the arts to invention, while keeping our individual traditions which are unique to Great Britain.
I fear England has not preserved hers as well as Scotland has done, and this is something many of us regret, however, we are always grateful to be able to come and for a few days to enjoy and appreciate your culture and wonderful traditions.
When I was a young man I often come on New Year’s Eve and because I had dark hair I very much enjoyed being part of a “first footing”.
