AS A fellow Nationalist, I welcome Alex Orr’s polite case on the ranting of Catalan MEP Alejo Vidal-Quadras Roca (Letters, 18 June). I am hardly going to say anything else, but will.
It is just four decades since the fascist leader General Francisco Franco breathed his last, thus freeing the peoples of Spain to re-organise themselves as a modern European democracy.
But, obviously, Franco’s heirs, such as the very right-wing Vidal-Quadras, remain in the past.
I wonder if the Better Together brigade are pleased that they have the backing of such continental friends?
