Forecast adrift

Have your say

I just saw on the news “forecasters” saying that last night was (to paraphrase) really rather cold in Scotland.

Quite apart from whether it should be newsworthy that our country can get a bit parky in January, what sort of a forecast is that?

On the basis of that level of prescience, I can confidently predict that A) the stock market will have a tough time in 1929, B) Steve Redgrave will win some gold medals and C) Hibs will win the cup in 2012.

I will admit the last is a flight of fancy not worth a bet although it might bring some comfort to your Easter Road correspondent Aidan Smith, but, as Meatloaf would have it, two out of three ain’t bad.

So can I be a forecaster too please?
