I AM pleased that food and drink will play a big role in the marketing of Scotland’s tourism offering over the next year or so (your report, 5 March)

I hope that Scottish seafood, in particular, will be given a higher profile abroad.

While it’s true that a lot of foodies know how good our fruits of the sea are, many people I have met in other countries just assume the best we have to offer is haggis and whisky, and that couldn’t be further from the truth.
