Clear charges

The Royal Bank of Scotland’s announcement that it might start charging people for having bank accounts (your report, 3 March) has naturally ruffled a few feathers.

But my view is that I’d rather have an up-front fee without being subject to
ridiculous charges for going slightly overdrawn or receiving a letter to tell me about it.

I also don’t want to have to spend hours working out which “product” is better with which bank. As long as I get some honesty. Will I?
