The one-million signature declaration that the separatist campaign is congratulating itself upon is reminiscent of a similar document produced in the 1830s by the Chartist campaign.
Like the separatists’ “Declaration”, the “People’s Charter” boasted more than a million signatures, but Parliament did not accept it. The reason why it was not accepted is because many of the signatures were by “Mr Punch”, “Queen Victoria” and “The Duke of Wellington”, supposedly.
I am sure that the separatist “Declaration” will have been signed by David Cameron (several times), HM the Queen and Rob Roy MacGregor.
