EDUCATION secretary Mike Russell has admitted that mistakes were made with regards to the new exams implemented in Scottish schools.

Concerns had been raised over increased workloads for both pupils and teachers, with many schools initially pushing back the introduction amid fears that it would be too much for staff to handle.

However, despite agreeing that it had been difficult, Mr Russell would not apologise and told those rolling out the new system to “keep the heid”.
