FORMER SNP deputy leader Jim Sillars believes there will be a “day of reckoning” for major employers in Scotland after the country votes in favour of independence.

Earlier this week Royal Bank of Scotland and Lloyds said they would move headquarters south of the border if there was a Yes vote in next week’s referendum. While Standard Life announced they were looking into a contingency plan.

Sillars, speaking from his campaign vehicle the “Margo Mobile” (named after his deceased wife and former SNP politician Margo MacDonald), insisted that employers are “subverting Scotland’s democratic process”.
