THE impact of Glasgow’s Commonwealth Games will be felt in Scotland for generations to come, according to the First Minister.

Speaking in Glasgow ahead of the Games, Alex Salmond said Glasgow 2014 will “showcase the great strengths of modern Scotland” as he pointed to their ability to serve as a catalyst for greater international trade, investment and tourism.

Mr Salmond said the Games are “designed to showcase the great strengths of modern Scotland”.
