SHE is set to become the next Moderator of the General Assembly – but that didn’t stop Reverend Lorna Hood having a run-in with the law.
The minister was questioned by police after the Moderator’s ring went missing at Edinburgh Airport last month, when eagle-eyed jewellers alerted officers as she turned up to have a duplicate adjusted to fit her finger.
Mrs Hood said: “I thought my official photos as Moderator might end up on Crimewatch.”

THEY might have seen their status as Edinburgh Zoo’s number one attraction hit by the arrival of giant pandas, but the penguins are fighting back.
Fresh from having a robo-penguin stalking their every move, they have now become a hit on the internet, as the webcam watch on their hatching eggs reaches fever pitch.
Five eggs have hatched so far – and as this tweeter can confirm, watching them online is an endless joy: “The little guys in dinner jackets crease me up.”
