Plan for future

Linda Bower from Forsinaird (Letters, 21 April) highlights the impotence of the scattered
inhabitants of a sparsely populated area when faced with modern quangos and GFCs (government-favoured/financed charities).

Most of the important
people in those organisations are self-promoted individuals who see much of rural Scotland as a “timeless, magnificent wilderness” where the locals and the local economy are incidental to their grand aims to reinvent the past. At Forsinaird, surely the local authority has a duty to treat the controversial, large-scale tourist development building
element of this proposal in
accordance with planning law and not allow it to be sneaked through on the back of the far less controversial Flow To The
Future project.
