Lottery levy

It is quite absurd that Camelot, the operator of the
National Lottery, has decided to increase the cost of a
lottery ticket by a massive 100 per cent to £2 (your report, 17 January), which will drive its customers away to other alternatives such as Premium Bonds and the many other lotteries that are now available at a nominal cost.

I for one will not be buying £2 tickets. I refuse to be blackmailed into supporting the good causes by adding to the profits of Camelot while trying to balance a challenging family budget during
difficult times.
