It’s a dreadful indictment of the NHS in Scotland that cancer patients are said to be receiving
inferior treatment to that offered in England and elsewhere (your report, 5 December).
Only recently it was revealed that some cancer waiting time targets were not being met and now there is concern over the denial of cancer drugs readily available south of the Border.
The unfortunate victims of this dreadful illness deserve to feel confident that they will receive the best possible treatment available in fighting cancer.
It should not be a postcode lottery. At a time when the SNP government is trying to sell the benefits of independence to the Scottish people, news of second class treatment for cancer victims in Scotland doesn’t make sense.
