Double dealing

Doesn’t it strike anyone as ironic that, while struggling to contain alcohol consumption at home, we laud the production and export of the same stuff, ie whisky, to 
others?

As one of the up-and-coming markets is China, will we echo the opium wars of the 19th century if the authorities there try to ban what they might well come to perceive as a pernicious product?
