A better deal
With reference to Christian Orr Ewing’s letter (17 November) suggesting compensation to Lord McAlpine should be paid out of the BBC salaries of those personnel involved,
I wholeheartedly agree.
And I’m sure I’m not alone in proposing that the ideal solution would be for Mr Entwistle to hand over half of his ill-gotten gains to Lord McAlpine, thereby satisfying both Lord McAlpine and licence payers, and leaving Mr Entwistle with the amount he was originally “entitled” to receive in the first place.
