Open Space: Water view

This shot, looking across to Arran from Portencross in North Ayrshire, was taken by Martin Muirhead just before sunset on a very cold, windy day. "I was out for a trip with my wife Brenda,and Pottencross is one of our favourite places for a walk," he says. "I used a four-second exposure to capture the movement in the water and a sunset filter to bring out the colour in the sky."

Can you do better than this? We are looking for the best amateur photography in Scotland. The choice of subject – people, industry, nature, scenery – doesn't matter. The pictures just have to be eye-catching.
