Only re-sale tickets left as Tattoo sells out for 12th year

Organisers of this year's Edinburgh Military Tattoo today said some re-sale tickets remained for the event, despite it being a complete sell-out for the 12th year in a row.

Tickets for the series of Edinburgh Castle shows finally sold out on Thursday, but there are still return tickets available at the box office.

In previous years tickets for the Tattoo have sold out months in advance, but organisers admit that sales have been slower this year.

A Tattoo spokesman said: "As most people are aware, there's a degree of marketplace turbulence. The Tattoo is not immune to what's going on in the wider world.

"However, we are still in a very good place and have now concluded our 12th consecutive sold-out season."

The Tattoo runs until August 28, with performances on Monday to Friday at 9pm and on Saturday at 7.30pm and 10.30pm. This year marks its Diamond Jubilee Year.
