Olympic centre to look 'nicer later'
The £269 million London 2012 aquatic centre will look better after the Games, the International Olympic Committee has admitted.
Designed by architect Zaha Hadid, the venue includes a wave-like roof that is crowded by the temporary seating which clads the venue during the Games. "I have the feeling that the look after the Games might be nicer," said Denis Oswald, chair of the IOC's co-ordination commission of inspectors.
"I think it is not so important in the few weeks of the Games." The two temporary wings, which will seat the majority of sports fans, will be taken down after the Games.
