Olympic hero Sir Chris to marry
SCOTLAND'S Olympic cycling champion, Sir Chris Hoy, is set to marry his girlfriend, Sarra Kemp, a solicitor from Edinburgh.
The triple gold medallist, 33, and Ms Kemp, who represents personal injury claimants at a firm in the capital, have become engaged after going out "for a couple of years", according to Sir Chris's father, David Hoy.
The pair are reported to have met at a friend's birthday party in an Edinburgh bar in 2006.
David Hoy told The Scotsman last night: "My wife and I are very happy; Sarra is a lovely girl."
He said a venue and date for the wedding had yet to be decided on.
Ms Kemp is the younger daughter of Group Captain and Mrs Robert Kemp, of Edinburgh.
The engagement is announced in The Scotsman today.
