Older women seek cancer jab

THE campaign to vaccinate teenage girls against a major cause of cervical cancer has impacted on older females, figures have shown.

Since the initiative began in the summer, take-up of the HPV vaccine has been very high among 12 to 17-year-olds in the Lothians.

It now seems more older women are also seeking vaccination.

Under figures released through Freedom of Information laws, NHS Lothian revealed GPs had referred at least 58 women for the jab between July and November.
