Older cancer patients 'bias'
OLDER victims of breast cancer are not receiving enough treatment options, a charity has claimed.
Breakthrough Breast Cancer said that in Scotland only 16 per cent of women over 65 received chemotherapy for their cancer, compared with three-quarters of those under 50.
Charity chiefs said that although they acknowledged there were many reasons why elderly females perhaps couldn't receive certain treatments, a fuller explanation was required.
