Zombies meet for monster new record

HALLOWEEN came early as people from across the UK dressed as zombies in a bid to set a monster new world record.

Thousands of people flocked to this year’s Shocktober Fest at Tulleys Farm in West Sussex to try to set a new Guinness World Record for the most zombies together in one place

A total of 2,113 zombies turned up at the event – setting a UK record but falling well short of a new world one. The record for that was set in New Jersey two years ago when just over 4,000 zombies came together.

Celebrity zombies including Eastenders star Shane Ritchie and actor Alan Ford, who stars in new horror comedy film Cockneys vs Zombies, took part in the weekend’s world record attempt.

Ben Backhouse, of the Guinness World Records, said: “Unfortunately, they fell short of the record, but this is certainly one of the more interesting record attempts I have attended.”
