Video: Lorry nearly flattens Chinese motorist
A Chinese motorist narrowly escaped death after an overturned lorry came within just inches of flattening the man at a major highway junction.
• Chinese motorist nearly killed as lorry overturns at junction
• No-one hurt as 19-tonne truck tipped over
CCTV footage captured the near-miss as a heavy goods vehicle took a left turn at a crossroads at high speeds.
As the 19-tonne truck begins to tilt, a man waiting at the front of the junction begins to back away on his moped.
The front of the moped was crushed by the lorry, but remarkably no-one was injured in the incident.
The driver of the lorry claimed that he was only driving at “10km per hour” on a major traffic artery near Linhai, Zhejiang Province.
The man told local television station China Central Television: “When I saw the lorry turning over, I hid myself behind the seat. I was lucky, and nothing happened to me.”
