SCOTTISH football broadcaster BT Sport have named Storm Desmond in their SPFL team of the week.

Desmond takes up a pivotal role as the central striker in the 3-4-3 formation, flanked by Aberdeen’s Adam Rooney and Kilmarnock striker Josh Magennis.

With such a ferocious No.9 in the squad it is a team that should rain down goals on the opposition (boom, boom).

There is no doubt the storm made quite an impact on the Scottish football weekend, with the extreme weather forcing postponements at Tynecastle, Celtic Park and Firhill in the top flight.

Some games survived with Aberdeen cutting the gap on Celtic at the top of the table and St Johnstone joining the race for second with their seventh away win on the bounce.

Kilmarnock and Dundee United both continued to struggle with a 1-1 draw at Rugby Park.
