Sectarian parrot case abandoned

A PARROT with a habit of screeching out sectarian songs has survived a neighbour’s three-year battle to silence him.

Rio and his owner Linda Gillies faced demands they be evicted from their home in Whitburn in 2009..

Neighbour Denise Dickson reported the pair to West Lothian Council and Lothian and Borders Police over claims she had been subjected to years of “sectarian ramblings” by the African Grey and the matter ended up in court. However, the case at Livingston Justice of the Peace court has now been abandoned.
