Scots beat ‘le stink’
IT MAY be the first time in history that the Auld Alliance between Scotland and France has benefited the English.
Scottish scientists have helped the English fend off a foul-smelling invasion after a stench of rotten eggs, sweat and garlic wafted over the English Channel from a chemical plant in Rouen which sprung a leak a week ago.
Scotmas, a chemical company based in Kelso, Roxburghshire, has sent four tonnes of a solution over to France to kill off the smell and turn England into a green and pleasant land once again.
