EMBARRASSED council staff were forced to remove a litter bin - after installing it around seven feet in the air.

Locals could not believe their eyes when the bin was attached to a bus stop sign in London Road, Stoke on Wednesday afternoon.

It meant only beanpoles like Stoke City striker Peter Crouch could comfortably use the bin attached to a post in Stoke.

Now Stoke-on-Trent City Council has removed it less than 24-hours after it was installed.
