A sheepdog herds Indian running ducks at the Aughton Pudding Festival, near Lancaster, yesterday.

The event dates back to 1782 and occurs at roughly 21-year intervals. The last one, in 1992, saw the creation of a Christmas pudding weighing 3.82 tons – a world record that still stands.
