Heart mishap is no bar to transplant
A HEART that was accidentally dropped on the ground while being transported to a Mexican hospital has been successfully transplanted into a 28-year-old hair stylist.
La Raza hospital doctor Jaime Saldivar yesterday said Erika Hernandez wasn’t yet aware her new heart had caused such furore after a medic stumbled and the plastic-wrapped heart fell out on to the street in Mexico City two weeks ago.
