A SCOT who ‘broke up’ with her boyfriend on the instant messaging app WhatsApp for an April Fools joke had the tables turned on her when her partner agreed to end the relationship.

After Hayleigh McBay told her boyfriend that the relationship was over, he replied: “thank god you said it first [sic]”.

Her shock at her partner’s answer is obvious when she begins to interrogate him afterwards.

She later tweeted a screenshot of the exchange, which was retweeted more than 7,400 times.

She then tweeted her followers to confirm that he had only played along, and that they were still together.
