FORMER US President George W. Bush is a brilliant artist who has painted portraits of more than 50 dogs, according to his private art teacher.

In an interview with Fox 5 Atlanta, Bonnie Flood said that the two-term President “is going to go down in the history books as a great artist.”

Flood spent up to six hours a day with the former President and his sister-in-law, working on Bush’s paint-handling and brushwork. She steered the 43rd President away from his love of dogs towards landscapes and scenes of his Texas ranch. She also refused to let her student get away with incorrect technique.

“When I would really wanted him to do something, I would say, ‘Mr. President you know that you don’t do it that way’” Flood told the Georgia TV station.

President Bush’s artistic side came to light last month, after hacked emails revealed his love of painting, including the news that Bush painted nudes of himself in the bath.
