French mobile signals at White Cliffs of Dover

VISITORS to the White Cliffs of Dover are picking up French mobile phone signals – and higher charges.

Residents and tourists in the seaside villages of St Margaret’s-at-cliffe and St Margaret’s Bay – 18 miles from France – receive a “Welcome to France” message and roaming charges for phone use from companies such as Orange F and SFR.
