Filming halted on Countdown because contestant was showing too much chest hair

Filming was interrupted on the popular quiz show Countdown after complaints that a contestant was showing too much chest hair.

Duncan Conway, of Lenzie, Dunbartonshire, travelled to Manchester to film the episode of the popular day time quiz show two weeks ago. The 24 year old law student was wearing a low v neck t-shirt on set, and as complaints grew from production staff that his chest hair display was “offensive”, filming was interrupted.

Conway said: “Having been instructed to either wear a shirt or v-neck I opted for the latter, which was funny because on set there was a complaint that I was showing too much flesh and that my chest hair might offend some people.

“I had to have my t-shirt taped so it held up higher.”

Despite this hairy incident, he insists that the experience was an enjoyable one. “The filming was great fun and meeting the Countdown team was brilliant.”

He also revealed that he had prepared for filming by playing the Countdown DVD game at home.

It is not yet known whether Duncan emerged from set victorious. To find out, tune in to on Monday 3rd December at 2.40pm when the episode will be broadcast.
