ED Balls celebrated with Andy Burnham as the Labour frontbench pair both got on the scoresheet in a three-nil victory over a team made up of members of the press lobby.

The shadow chancellor scored twice, but is facing tougher opposition off the field, with Paul Kenny, general secretary of the GMB union, criticising his party’s public sector pay policy. ‘He comes here and he’s not really in touch with the argument,’ Mr Kenny said.
