Cat found after three years

A COUPLE reunited with their cat after three years have described his return as a “miracle”.

Maxine and Allan Mullen thought they would never see Sid again after he went missing from their Lanarkshire home in 2009.

They moved to Devon last year and were shocked to be contacted by the Scottish SPCA this week to inform them he had been found. They returned to Scotland yesterday to collect the cat from the charity’s rescue centre in Bothwell, Lanarkshire.

Mrs Mullen said: “It was devastating when he went missing, and when we moved to England, we didn’t expect to see him ever again.”

She added: “Sid recognised us straight away when we came to pick him up.”

Sid was handed in to the rescue centre with facial injuries. The charity was able to contact the Mullens because he had been fitted with a microchip.
