Grubb banquet bash raises thousands for charity duo

A BANQUET hosted by Lord Provost George Grubb has raised tens of thousands of pounds for charity.

The event took place at the Edinburgh International Conference Centre and was attended by guests including the Princess Royal.

The event, held last month, raised £28,514 for The Royal College of Surgeons’ Hamlin Fistula appeal and The Prince’s Scottish Youth Business Trust.

Councillor Grubb said: “We are absolutely delighted that thanks to the enormous generosity of those attending, the banquet managed to raise such sizeable amounts for both of these very worthwhile causes.”

Geoff Leask, director of The Prince’s Scottish Youth Business Trust (PSYBT), said: “PSYBT are delighted to be a beneficiary of this wonderful event. We are very appreciative of the support of the Lord Provost and his team and look forward to this strong relationship with Edinburgh Council continuing in the future.”
