Nurses star in dignity DVD
TWO Lothians nurses have played a key role in developing a training DVD on dignity.
Stephen Smith, lead nurse for the Leadership in Compassionate Care project, and Western General charge nurse Richard Mackay appeared in the award-winning "Dignity – at the heart of everything we do" production by the Royal College of Nursing.
Mr Smith said: "Dignity is about training people as individuals and checking how they want to be cared for.
"The way in which care is delivered is often as important to the patient as the treatment itself."
