Nurses in plea for more staff

THE Edinburgh-based Royal College of Nurses has called for more workers to deal with mental health problems in children.

RCN Scotland board member, Kate Macaulay, said: "Given the growing number of referrals to child and adolescent mental health services, the number of appropriately-skilled nurses and other professionals working within the service must increase.

"It is vital that the Scottish Government not only addresses workforce capacity issues, but ensures that measures are put in place to deliver appropriate training."
