Norah pleads for old school photos for new history book
A RETIRED university lecturer has written a history of her old school, and is now appealing for photographs to complete the book.
Historian Norah Carlin was inspired to write the history of the former Holy Cross RC Academy in Ferry Road, after she retired to Edinburgh two years ago.
Holy Cross closed in 1969, but that did not stop hundreds of former pupils attending a reunion in 2007 to mark the centenary of its opening.
The book is due to be published in the autumn, but there is a shortage of photographs to illustrate the story of the school.
Ms Carlin said: "I'd be very grateful if anyone could lend us any photographs."
