Noisettes new addition to Edinbugh's Hogmanay line-up
THE Noisettes are the latest act to be announced for Edinburgh's Hogmanay 2010.
The bands will perform at the Concert In The Gardens on December 31.
Snow Patrol's Gary Lightbody and Tom Simpson and Belle and Sebastian's Richard Colburn will DJ at the main street party, and Mylo will headline the West End DJ stage.
A message from the Noisettes read: "We can't wait to be with you on New Year's Eve. We're gonna make it a very special show indeed."
The city's Hogmanay street party is on from 9pm to 1am.
Pete Irvine, creative director of Edinburgh's Hogmanay, said: "Last year we moved the street party on to a new level and now we're taking it further.
"We introduced the West End DJ stage and it attracted huge crowds. This year we're delighted with a great line-up that has a strong Scottish connection."
Mr Irvine said other acts will be announced.
Councillor Steve Cardownie said: "The high quality of this year's programme will maintain our position as the number one venue for Hogmanay celebrations.
"With a fantastic range of top acts, bands, and spectacular events, using stunning Edinburgh as a backdrop, there will be no better place on the planet to bring in the New Year."
The celebrations start with a torchlight procession on December 29 and the premiere of Off Kilter, a new dance and music show in the Festival Theatre which will perform six shows in five days.
Edinburgh's Hogmanay runs until Saturday January 2. Music, theatre and dance events are taking place at indoor and outdoor venues across the city centre, many of which are free.
Tickets can be bought from.edinburghshogmanay.com, the box office on 08448 942 010 or in person from Tickets Scotland at 127 Rose Street or Ripping Records at 91 South Bridge, both Edinburgh.
