No tram fears for Hogmanay

TRAM bosses today insisted that work on Princes Street will not get in the way of the Capital's Hogmanay celebrations.

TIE said that work will not be taking place on Princes Street when 100,000 revellers descend on the city for the annual party.

There had been fears that parts of the street could be out of bounds because of ongoing tram work.

But Mandy Haeburn-Little, director of customer services and communications at TIE, said: "We would like to make it absolutely clear that the Edinburgh Tram Project will hand Princes Street back to the city by the end of November as planned."
