No slot for Moyles as BBC shake up Radio 1 schedules

Chris Moyles has been ruled out of hosting a regular late night slot on BBC Radio 1, after station bosses handed the role to a pair of newcomers, raising a question mark about his future at the station.

The outspoken presenter has been without a programme since he handed over his breakfast show to Nick Grimshaw in September after eight and a half years.

There had been speculation the DJ – who is still under contract to R1 – would be given a 10pm to midnight show during the week.

However, station controller Ben Cooper yesterday announced the programme would instead be hosted by Phil Taggart and Alice Levine.

Taggart has already served as a stand-in presenter, while Levine is new to the station. Cooper has also confirmed that Annie Mac will be the sole host of the Sunday night show which she used to co-present.
