RENOWNED Scottish violinist Nicola Benedetti shows Shaunie McAvoy how it's done before a Christmas concert in Glasgow yesterday.

Benedetti invited the eight-year-old, alongside other young musicians, to the city's Royal Concert Hall for her performance.
The former BBC Young Musician of the Year has been advising and inspiring more than 250 children involved in the Big Noise orchestra in Stirling's Raploch area. They travelled to Glasgow to see her play with the Scottish Opera orchestra.
The project is the first of its kind in the UK, and is modelled on Venezuela's hugely successful El Sistema movement. It aims to use music-making to foster confidence, teamwork, pride and aspiration in children and the wider community.
Benedetti is in demand as a performer around the world, while her most recent album also made it to No 1 in the classical chart.
