Nick Clegg admits 'offending' Lib Dems over coalition
DEPUTY Prime Minister Nick Clegg admitted today he caused "offence" among Liberal Democrats by joining a coalition with the Conservatives, but insisted he had no other responsible option.
In an interview ahead of a special Lib Dem conference tomorrow to discuss the coalition, Mr Clegg said a Labour/Lib Dem alliance would have been "unworkable" and seen by voters as "illegitimate".
