NHS hit with £800k taxi bill
HEALTH chiefs paid out more than £800,000 in taxi journeys last year, it has emerged.
Figures released through Freedom of Information show that NHS Lothian reimbursed patients with 647,000 of taxi bills up until the end of March this year.
A further 169,000 was repaid to staff who had to take taxis as part of their working day.
