New guidelines help those at risk of harm
NEW adult support and protection guidelines have been launched in the Capital.
The launch, organised by the Edinburgh, Lothians and Borders Executive Group, was held in the Corn Exchange yesterday.
The event coincided with a Scottish Government media campaign designed to raise public awareness about the range of issues faced by adults at risk of harm.
Detective Sergeant Peter Traynor, of Lothian and Borders Police, said: "I am buoyed by the enthusiasm and commitment of staff from all agencies who attend our multi-agency training."
Lindsay Flockhart, senior social worker with the city council, said: "The Act is set up, correctly I believe, to ensure that all relevant measures have been taken to minimise the risk of harm and that there is a significant level of evidence that the harm is serious before any protective order is granted."
