New command for Edinburgh Tattoo
Brigadier David Allfrey is to be the next chief executive and producer of the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo.
Brigadier Allfrey, 51, is a serving army officer and was until recently commander of 51 Scottish Brigade. He has also produced several military spectaculars. He will take up the appointment in the spring.
He said: "I look forward to playing my part in taking the Tattoo to a new level and producing an imaginative public spectacle which showcases the very best of what our country's military and civilian musical heritage has to offer."
Chair of the board of trustees of the Tattoo, Lord Provost George Grubb, said: "We had a first class list of candidates and we know that David Allfrey is the right man for the job".
